Angel On A Leash and the Ronald McDonald House of New York City were honored in March with a Community Partnership Award given by Mutual of America.
The prestigious award, given annually by Mutual of America since 1996, recognizes "outstanding nonprofit organizations in the United States that have shown exemplary leadership by facilitating partnerships with public, private or social sector leaders who are working together as equal partners, not as donors and recipients, to build a cohesive community that serves as a model for collaborating with others for the greater good."
Angel On A Leash teams have been visiting at the Ronald McDonald House since 2006.
Mutual of America also presented five awards for special contributions to the success of the partnership. Angel On A Leash teams Richard Tegtmeier and Tucker, and Gay Cropper and Mr. Gruffyd Babayan were recognized for their dedication to their volunteer work at the House; Michele Siegel of the ASPCA for her tireless efforts in training and registering Angel On A Leash teams through Delta Society; Greer Griffith for her work as Angel’s Director of Programs; and Ronald McDonald House Director of Family Support Chaplain Cherilyn Frei for creating and integrating the program at the House.
Angel On A Leash teams and Ronald McDonald House families were among those attending a special luncheon at the New York Athletic Club for the ceremonies hosted by Mutual of America. Thomas Gilliam, President and CEO, presented the awards to Ronald McDonald House President/CEO Bill Sullivan and Angel President/CEO David Frei, in honor of the success of the Angel program in the Ronald McDonald House.
